Having completed their first year of their apprenticeship, our class of 2016 are fully settled into life at Ainscough Industrial.

Whilst continuously working on their qualifications and college works they have also become valued parts of their respective teams. All of our apprentices have been working with long standing Ainscough employees to learn their way around their jobs.

Thanks to this the apprentices have gained a mixture of site and workshop experience and are seeing the wide range of work that Ainscough Industrial complete across the group.

At Ainscough Industrial’s Wigan branch, Darren and Josh have found their feet in their roles. Darren has been working on site with a number of experienced riggers and Josh has spent time in the workshop with our team of plant fitters.

Darren has gained some great experience whilst working as part of the team for a major automotive manufacturer. Josh has also been making great strides assisting the workshop team with all repairs and maintenance, attending breakdowns and generally improving his knowledge of the plant and equipment.

At our Leyland branch, Aiden has made great progress learning the different skills required for the detailed work involved for a major contact for liquid tank refurbishment and installations.

There is also success for John at our Rotherham facility, who is getting a good mix of experience working in both the yard and on sites. He has also passed extra courses including his FLT and MEWP, and is now acting as 3rd man on sites which demonstrates great progression.

At our Retford pipework division Hudson and Lewis have also made excellent progress with their welding skills, having gained both experience and confidence with both TIG and MIG welding.

Having both done a period of time in the workshop they both have now moved on to a major site in Derby to see how the welding skills they have learnt are utilised on site. More experienced members of the team have been commenting on their excellent focus, enthusiasm and drive.

Engineering Manager Stephen Edge commented:

We have been very impressed with the ambition, dedication and quality shown by all our apprentices. We hope to see them continue to grow, develop and thrive within the Ainscough Industrial teams.  Keep up the good work!”
